"We cannont fix our own brokenness"

No Jesus, No Justice

This summer at our Cru15 Staff conference, we had the privilege of hearing from Andy Crouch. Andy is executive editor of Christianity Today and serves on the governing boards of Fuller Theological Seminary and Equitas Group, a philanthropic organization focused on ending child exploitation in Haiti and Southeast Asia. He is also a senior fellow of the International Justice Mission’s IJM Institute.

Please read Andy’s article, “No Jesus, No Justice”.  What he states aligns perfectly with what compels us at Freedom 58 to continue this work and mission.

Andy met with our team for breakfast at the conference, and we were so privileged to spend quality time asking questions and dialoguing about what bringing Jesus into the justice conversations means.  One statement he made that has resonated with me was, “We cannot fix our own brokenness. Only Jesus can do that.” Because we are image-bearers of God, our true image can only be restored through Him.

I hope you will soon read Andy’s article! I’m sure you will be challenged just as I have.
